FACULTY AND STAFF
Geologic investigations are labor-intensive by nature. We do not
believe a more qualified team could be assembled to conduct a study of the
geologic framework of the Seattle area.
Kathy Goetz Troost, R.P.G., is a Research Scientist at the Department of
Earth and Space Sciences at the UW. She was previously a Senior Associate at
Shannon & Wilson, Inc. and was employed there as a Project Manager and
Project Geologist for nineteen years. She has authored or co-authored seven
of the geologic maps in the central Lowland, and she is the recognized
expert on central Puget Sound Quaternary stratigraphy through her detailed
work on deposits in the Seattle-Tacoma area. As a consulting geologist for
Shannon & Wilson she managed environmental and geological investigations for
local projects such as the new Mariners stadium, the new Seahawks stadium,
State Route 16 and Tacoma Narrows bridge improvements, and the geoarchaeological investigation at West Point.
